Internet use at home tripled from 1997 to 2007

It is hardly surprising that the Census Bureau has just reported that 62 percent of U.S. households said they were using Internet access in the home in 2007.  That’s an increase from 18 percent in 1997, the first year that the bureau collected data on Internet use.

Sixty-four percent of individuals 18 and over used the Internet from any location in 2007, while only 22 percent did so in 1997.
